Update from China 11/22/11:
Haven't seen a d**n dirt bike the entire I've been here!! The dirt really sucks too. Broken up, golf balled sized, sharped edge rocks in a clay base! But, if I had a bike here, I'd be riding!!
Not sure how many of you guys knew but I'm in China right now getting cancer treatments. I arrived in China on 11/07/11 and could be here for 6 to 12 weeks. I shut the A/C shop down for the most part on 08/22/11 to focus on treatments. Ended up having a brain tumor removed in march 2011 and doing various radiation treatments on lung, bone and recurrence in the brain thru September 2011. Tumors started showing up at an increasing rate and nothing the states was all the effective or would have probably finished me off. So that's why I'm in China getting the latest and best treatments available anywhere. The main treatment is SPDT and uses sound and light waves to destroy the cancer tumors without harming healthy tissue. They also do T-cell therapy to boost the immune system.
Things in China are going really great so far. I'm actually doing pretty good and they have been keeping me very busy the past 5 days. I did my SPDT drops Wednesday and Thursday, did ozone infusion and low dose chemo Friday. It may have been low dose and I thought was only going to be 3 different Iv drips turned into 10 hours of iv infusions and at least 15 different iv drips. Fortunately these are at fractional doses compared to what they administer in the US. I only experienced one slight side effect with one the solutions and that was slight pain where the IV needle was in my arm. No nausea what so ever....so far. The only other minor side effect I experienced was some minor leg/groin cramping in my left leg. It has already subsided this morning. My wrist is still a little stiff but most of the pain has gone away. Saturday they started the SPDT treatments. 40 minutes in the hot tub bubble bath and 30 minutes on the tanning bed. The ultrasound was mostly painless unless you get too close to the sensor heads it will sting and burn!!! The tanning was bright red lights, very warming but not too hot!! So far no side effects other than being a little tired last night.(went to bed at 10pm instead of 3am) I am maintaining my energy levels so far for the past 4 days!! Feels good to feel good!!! I have 2 more days of SPDT treatments then get to repeat the whole process again next week. After the second week of treatments, I get a week off before the second 2 week cycle starts. They will probable do some scans after the second cycle to see how I'm progressing. Depending on progress and how I feel, I may try to fly back to the states then.
Can't wait to get better and get back to BMX to sling some real dirt at the rest of you guys, if I get a good start!!
Take care, be safe riding, kick your butts later!!!
